About Us

I am originally from Sweden but moved to South Africa in 1998. After 18 years in the corporate world (R&D, Supply Chain and Procurement) I decided to follow my passion and dream of working with Rhodesian Ridgebacks. My husband Alex is a first generation South African with strong roots in Italy. We have two teenage sons who thoroughly enjoy playing and interacting with our Ridgebacks.

Our Ridgebacks are part of our family. We live on a big plot and our Ridgebacks therefore enjoy having the space to run and play naturally and freely. We also regularly take our dogs to the bush, to our game farm in the Waterberg, where they can enjoy the true African terrain and wildlife.

We got our first Ridgeback in 2005 and since then there has been no turning back on this love story with an amazing breed. In February 2015 we decided to take it further and acquired our foundation dogs “Leonardo” and “Baronessa”. In 2016 we became the lucky owners of "Nutmeg", our third foundation dog. We have given our Foundation dogs the kennel name Bomvuborg. Bomvu from the Zulu word of African red soil and Borg from my hometown Helsingborg in Sweden.

The latest addition to our Ridgeback family is Amberhall Ariella, born 24 June 2017, by SEVCH Inanda Mellberg Otto JV of Ersted ex CH Danntrig Baronessa of Bomvuborg. She was the pick of my heart from Nessa's litter. A very happy girl, cute beyond words and a real character in the pack.

Amberhall is the kennel name which we will use going forward. It is inspired by the alley of Liquid Amber trees marking the entrance to our homestead.
